My Year of Rest and Relaxation
by Ottessa Moshfegh
I had no real clue what this was gonna be about going in besides "a lady attempts to sleep for a year." I wrongly assumed this would be set in the Victorian era so I was a bit disappointed once it revealed itself to be set in the early 2000s, but the premise was still interesting enough for me not to care too much.
Ultimately, though, the author didn't use this concept to its fullest potential. This book is mostly the character listing pills, talking about Whoopi Goldberg, and being a huge asshole to her best friend. I just wanted more than that.
