The Cathedral & the Bazaar: Musings on Linux and Open Source by an Accidental Revolutionary

by Eric Raymond

You can feel the libertarianism dripping throughout all of Eric's thoughts on his interpretation and ideal vision of free / open source software. Even beyond the software discussed in this book being outdated, the entire concept of hacker culture is outdated. Eric is barely critical of the attitudes of "tribal leaders", particularly egregious in a world where ideas of data feminism, criticism of techno-chauvinism, and Linus's self-reflection and correction of his previous behaviors all exist.

Anyways, I wouldn't recommend reading this in 2024.
